Candidates must:

• have an excellent command of the English language;
• have a recognised teaching qualification;
• Secondary School Teachers must at least have 5 years’ teaching experience in the relevant subjects;
• Primary Homeroom Teachers must at least have 5 years’ experience teaching primary students.
• have a fair knowledge of the programmes offered at the school

Windhoek International School offers the following Programmes/curricula:

• International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IBPYP);
• Cambridge International General Certificate for Secondary Education (IGCSE), in Grades 9 & 10;
• International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), in Grades 11 & 12.

Candidates applying for teaching positions are expected to have training and/ or experience in delivering these programmes. Candidates must have a firm commitment to International Education, to the life of the school and its future development, be willing to work together as a team, sharing expertise and resources. Having an understanding of learning through constructivism is a distinct advantage.
