Manager: Town Planning & Properties | Oshakati Town Council

Housing allowance at 22% of an annual salary or Housing subsidy at 40% of annual salary in case of a bond.

Primary purpose of the position:

• To prepare, co-ordinate and implement all aspects relating to town planning/urban development and to ensure sustainable and orderly urban development with due cognizance of the environment and national legislation/regulations.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Strategic advice and report on urban development
• Strategic Town planning
• Valuation roll
• New and serviced erven/Town expansion
• Housing development
• Staff management
• Property Administration

Minimum Requirement:

• B-Degree in Town/Urban Planning or equivalent qualification plus 7 years appropriate experience of which 5 years should have been on a Senior Supervisory capacity.
• Computer literacy (MS Office package, CAD/GIS)
• Sound communication and interpersonal skills (able to explain technical matters to a wide ranging audience)
• Knowledge of the Local Authorities Act, Township Ordinance, Municipal Building Regulations, Town Planning & Properties Schemes, is required
• Valid Code B driving licence
• The incumbent shall not have criminal records
• Qualifications obtained from foreign countries should be accompanied by Namibia Qualification Authority (NQA) evaluation.
