The Office of the Judiciary was created in terms of the Judiciary Act 2015 (Act 11 of 2015), to give effect to Article 78 (5) of the Constitution of the Republic of Namibia and came into force on 31 December 2015. The Office of the Judiciary provides support to the Judiciary, and as it embarks on this journey, invites applications from dynamic, self-driven and motivated suitably qualified Namibian citizens for the following vacancies:
- Post Designation: Deputy Chief Magistrate – Training
- 1x Post – Windhoek
Minimum Requirements: An LLB degree or four (4)year recognised legal qualification, 9 years court experience of which 3 years should be on the supervisory / management level. Possession of a valid driver’s licence is a prerequisite and candidates from outside the Magistracy will be subjected to a psychometric test.
Duties:
- The successful candidate will be required to perform these functions:
- To plan, design and implement Curriculum of the Magistrate s courts
- To provide support to Chief Magistrate on education and training related matters
- To develop training materials and facilitate both centralized and decentralised workshops
- To identify best practices in judicial education and advice the Chief Magistrate
- To conduct research and compile reports on continuing Judicial education-related matters
- To implement and manage E-Learning platform
- To facilitate the identification of training needs and development of Annual Training Schedule
- Mentoring of identified magistrates. Drawing up and management of training programmes.
