VOCATIONAL EDUCATION TRAINING (VET) TRAINER: AGRICULTURE: ANIMAL HUSBANDRY (GRADE C4) – Namibia Training Authority (NTA)

You typically need a diploma or degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, or Veterinary Science, plus a teaching qualification like a Diploma in Education or Adult Education. The NTA often requires at least three years of practical industry experience in livestock farming or animal husbandry. Registration with the Namibia Qualifications Authority (NQA) as an assessor or moderator is highly advantageous.

You will develop lesson plans aligned with Namibia Training Authority curricula, deliver practical and theoretical training to students at vocational centers, and assess learner competencies through practical demonstrations and written tests. Vocational training emphasizes structured academic calendars with term breaks, unlike year-round farming operations. Punctuality and adherence to NTA policies are valued, but the pace is generally more predictable than commercial farming.

You can advance from Grade C4 to higher grades (C3, C2, C1) through years of service and additional qualifications, potentially becoming a Head of Department or Principal at a vocational training center. Some trainers transition to curriculum development roles at the NTA, become independent assessors, or move into agricultural extension services with the Ministry of Agriculture.
