VARIOUS SPECIALIST ROLES FOR FLEET OPERATIONS – CARAPAU Fishing (Pty) Limited

Carapau Fishing (Pty) Limited (“Carapau Fishing”) is a well-established wholly Namibian owned fishing company operating as freezer horse mackerel fishing company since its inception in 2015 horse mackerel per year on the MFV, Carapau. The vessel provides employment to more than 140 highly skilled employees who ensure that Carapau sells its unique value added product to well established markets in various international countries under its own brand. In the Fleet Department we have sixty-five roles in five (5) Sections, namely Upper Deck, Engineering, Factories, Hospitality and Medical services on vessels. The Officer’s roles are set up as the senior specialists with 15+ years in the industry. The complexity of the Carapau Fleet is in the type of vessel, the origin of the vessel and the digital and other technology used on the vessels. The unique skills required are due to the size of the vessel as determined by international maritime law and the specialist factory or engineering equipment and machinery that must be managed and maintained as per the regulations of the original manufacturing agreements, demanding a certain level of qualifications and/or experience.
