Training Officer Grade 1

Qualifications & Experience

–              Grade 12 or equivalent

–              Certified Training Instructor in an underground mining / engineering / Open Pit environment

–              Certificate in Occupationally Directed Education Training and Development Practices Level 4 (preferred)

–              Trade / Underground / Open Pit Blasting Certificate (preferred), if not obtained must possess relevant technical certificate / qualification at a Team Leader level

–              MS Office Proficient [Word and Excel]

–              Good English communication skills [Written and verbal]

–              At least 3 to 5 years of experience working in an underground mining / engineering / open pit environment

–              At least 2 to 3 years training related experience (preferred)

Main Responsibilities, but not limited to:-

–              Effective supervision of the site Assessors / Instructors

–              Effective planning and organising of training deliverables as defined by the training service level agreement for the project

–              Effective and      efficient coordination     of training initiatives,

employee movements and resources

–              Maintain a site specific training matrix that accurately reflects status of training as per the SLA

–              Order / arrange training materials timeously and ensure stock levels are adequate

–              Proactive risk identification and mitigation within area of responsibility

–              Maintain and monitor effective record keeping of all training documentation, including learner portfolio of evidence

–              Adhere to legislation and M&RC’s policies, standards and procedures

–              Wear correct PPE at all times

–              Effective self and team management and alignment with M&RC values and leadership initiatives
