Remuneration & Benefits: Minimum (N$ 221 928.00)
Market related salary package, Medical Aid, Pension Fund, Housing Allowance/Subsidy, Transport Allowance, 35 m3 free water per
month and 24 working days leave per annum.
Main purpose of the job: Responsible for law enforcement of Road Traffic and Transport Act and the promotion of Road Safety in the
Swakopmund District.
Key performance areas: Enforcement of all traffic rules and regulations to ensure a safe traffic environment; Control of traffic during
special circumstances (traffic accidents, processions, VIP escorts, etc.) to ensure an effective and safe traffic flow; the execution of court
duties to assist in the process of justice being served; provision of training and education functions to promote road safety and the abiding
of traffic laws; performance of administration duties to ensure the effective running of the Traffic Section; provide emergency assistance
whenever needed.
Requirements and experience:
Grade 12 (pass mark of 20 points over 5 subjects which must include an E symbol in English);
National Basic Traffic Diploma;
Be registered as per Section 12 of the RTTA, Act 22/1999 (kindly attached all 5 Certificates to your application): Examiner of
Licences, Traffic Officer; Examiner of Vehicles, Inspector of Driver Licenses and Road Transport Inspector;
3 year’s experience as Traffic Officer (Proof of Testimonials are required);
Code A and CE driver’s license endorse with a valid Professional Authorization; and
Certificate of Good Conduct (Any person who has been convicted of violating a traffic offence under the Road Traffic and
Transportation Act 22 of 1999 or any other law relating to road traffic applicable in Namibia or has been arrested and
charged under such Act but is still awaiting judgement by a court of law will not be considered for the position. Proof of
Code of Conduct – valid for 6 months should be attached) and good command of the English language
