TOWN PLANNING OFFICER

POSITION: TOWN PLANNING OFFICER: C41

PURPOSE: To provide a quality town planning services to the Municipality by (outdating. guiding and implementing the development needs of Gobabis to ensure sustainable urban growth, a supply of serviced erven and a quality urban environment to all residents

REPORTING LINE: Manager Infrastructure and Technical Services

DUTY STATION: Gobabis Municipality

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

Evaluates and checks that building activities within the Municipality are carried out according to the Town Planning Scheme and bylaws

Coordinates and plans the demarcation of plots and placement of pegs in confliction with the Community

Development Officer

• Relocation of households in conduction with the Community Development Officer
• Controls illegal settlements or illegal informal settlement occupants in confliction with the Community Development Officer
• Assesses building plans conforming with regulations for building lines use of buildings, coverage, bulk, density fuel installations and other special conditions
• Prepares and submits proposals to Council for the charging of betterment and endowment fees
• Town Planning Management and Coordination

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Bachelor Degree in Town Planning or equivalent qualification in the same flekl

Post-graduate qualification will be an advantage

• Four (4) years’ experience in a municipal and town planning environment of which at least two (2) years would be at management level
• Registration with the Namibian Council of Town and Regional Planners, as a Town Planner

Valid Code Ft Driver “s license
