Overseeing that the OHS policies and programs as well as the CEMP (Construction Environmental Management Plan) are adhered to.
Advising and instructing on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery etc.)
Conducting risk assessment and enforce preventative measures
Initiating and organizing OHS training of employees and executives
Inspecting premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g. not using protective equipment)
Overseeing installations, maintenance, disposal of substances etc.
Stoping any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy
Recording and investigating incidents to determine causes and handle worker’s compensation claims
Preparing reports on occurrences, make sure the SHEW File is up to date and provide statistical information to upper management
