THE POSITION
Terminal Investment Namibia (TIN) is seeking an experienced and results-driven Technical Manager to lead the technical operations of a busy container terminal. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, maintenance, and continuous improvement of engineering systems, equipment, and infrastructure that support terminal operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in optimizing asset performance, improving operational efficiency, and supporting the organization’s growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities
- Promote a strong safety culture through engineering controls, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure TIN is fully aligned with the International Safety Management (ISM) Code.
- Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and continuous maintenance strategies.
- Monitor equipment performance and reliability to minimize downtime.
- Lead a high performing and agile technical team.
- Increase throughput while maintaining high levels of safety and efficiency.
- Oversee planning and executing terminal expansion projects as well as all technical assets, including civil infrastructure.
- Conduct regular terminal-wide evaluations and assess performance indicators.
- Drive continuous process improvement and cost management activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Postgraduate qualifications in Business Management will be a distinct advantage.
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience specifically in Port or Terminal Operations.
- Minimum of 10 years’ executive and managerial experience specifically in container terminal operations.
- Proven experience in logistics and port operations is mandatory.
