The main function of the Role:
- The team leader is responsible for managing and helping Underwriting teams.
Key Performance Areas of the Role:
- Managing the Underwriting team and ensure that they perform their duties correctly
- Assisting the Admin and National Underwriting Manager in his/her duties.
- The incumbent is responsible for daily operations, planning for future workflow and scheduling
- The team leader must have a thorough understanding of all equipment, methods, and procedures in order to effectively train new hires and to upgrade the skills of existing personnel
- Report weekly and monthly on teams performance
- Ensure that underwriting is administered within given turnaround times and as correctly and cost-effective as possible applying sound underwriting principles.
- Assisting with all Adhoc underwriting projects
Requirements
- Matric/Grade 12
- 4 years Short Term experience
- Excellent MS Office skills
- People Management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Relationship and networking ability
- Business and Financial understanding
- Attention to detail
- Operating Methodologies of the insurance industry
- Communication (Oral & Written)
- Computer Literacy (MS Office Applications)
- Attention to detail
- Strong admin orientation
- Sound short term insurance background
- Problem solving & Decision making
- Team Work
- Accuracy
- Self-driven
- Knowledge of I90 will be an advantage
- Handle pressure effectively
- Meet deadlines
