Key Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and coordinate Data Centre Engineers and technical resources within the Data Centre team.
Take ownership of the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and performance of Acunam’s data centre environments.
Ensure the availability, reliability, and security of customer and internal infrastructure hosted within Acunam facilities.
Oversee the deployment, maintenance, and lifecycle management of physical servers, virtualisation platforms, storage systems, and supporting infrastructure.
Manage and maintain VMware, Hyper-V, and related virtualisation technologies.
Oversee server operating systems, including Microsoft Windows Server and Linux environments.
Maintain strong working knowledge of data centre networking, including TCP/IP, VLANs, switching, routing, network redundancy, high availability, link aggregation, SAN connectivity, and network segmentation.
Work closely with Acunam’s Networking and Security teams on data centre network architecture, connectivity, firewall integration, inter-data-centre links, and troubleshooting of infrastructure dependencies.
Monitor infrastructure health, capacity, utilisation, and performance, and implement proactive improvements where required.
Ensure data centre standards, operational procedures, documentation, and best practices are maintained and continuously improved.
Identify and remediate infrastructure, security, and operational risks.
Plan, coordinate, and participate in infrastructure refreshes, upgrades, migrations, and customer onboarding projects.
Manage backups, disaster recovery processes, and business continuity requirements.
Coordinate with network, security, cloud, and support teams to resolve complex incidents and service issues.
Act as the technical escalation point for infrastructure-related incidents and major outages.
Maintain accurate customer and internal infrastructure documentation.
Participate in after-hours maintenance windows and emergency support activities where required.
Assist with technology evaluation, solution design, and strategic planning for infrastructure services.
Work with Sales and customers to gather and analyse technical and business requirements for data centre infrastructure solutions.
Architect and design fit-for-purpose server, storage, virtualisation, backup, and disaster recovery solutions for tenders, RFQs, and prospective customers.
Develop technical solution architectures, bills of materials, specifications, sizing, capacity requirements, implementation approaches, and scopes of work.
Evaluate and select appropriate OEM technologies and products based on customer requirements, performance, scalability, resilience, supportability, and commercial considerations.
Engage with vendors and distributors to validate solution designs, configurations, compatibility, licensing, and support requirements.
Contribute to technical tender responses, customer proposals, and solution presentations, and support Sales during technical customer engagements.
Ensure proposed solutions can be successfully transitioned from pre-sales design into implementation and ongoing support by Acunam’s technical teams.

Minimum of 7 years’ practical infrastructure and server administration experience.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience leading or supervising technical resources.

Strong practical experience with virtualisation platforms such as VMware and/or Hyper-V.
Strong practical understanding of enterprise data centre networking, including TCP/IP, VLANs, switching, routing, redundancy, high availability, network segmentation, and SAN connectivity.
Experience troubleshooting network dependencies affecting servers, storage, virtualisation, backup, and data centre services.
Experience administering and designing enterprise storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
Practical experience with server and storage architecture, sizing, capacity planning, resilience, and lifecycle planning.
Demonstrable experience designing infrastructure solutions for customers, including developing bills of materials, technical specifications, solution architectures, and implementation scopes.
Experience supporting Sales with tenders, RFQs, technical proposals, and customer solution engagements will be highly advantageous.
Experience engaging with OEMs, distributors, and vendors to design, validate, and cost infrastructure solutions will be advantageous.
