Supply Chain and Distribution Manager
The purpose of this position is to oversee and ensure effective management of the inward and outward supply chain logistics of gases and welding consumables as well as ensuring safe distribution of products around Namibia
The positions will be reporting into the Country Managing Director and have a dotted reporting line to the Emerging Africa Supply Chain and Distribution manager. The incumbent will be based in Windhoek.
Key Areas of Responsibility include, but is not limited to the following:
- Ensure effective planning and prioritisation of cylinder work stock
- Ensure effective categorisation of inventory items to ensure effective replenishment
- Ensure effective communication within supplier, customer and Afrox stakeholders
- Coordinate the implementation of any changes in logistics
- Assist with annual budget, based on company guidelines and market conditions
- Ensure compliance to vehicle specification standards
- Ensure that drivers in the country are trained and assessed to be competent in respect of the applicable traffic laws and regulations
- Ensure controls are in place and monitored to determine compliance of all critical site distribution activities in accordance with company standard
- Improve distribution efficiencies by analysing information, identifying improvement opportunities, and rectifying inefficiencies
- Perform audits on all branches in the supply chain and distribution functions on an annual basis
- Manage and lead Supply Chain and Distribution team to ensure efficient operations that leads to excellent customer service.
Minimum Requirements:
- The preferred candidate should be in possession of a Commercial degree in supply Chain Management or an equivalent tertiary qualification.
- The candidate should have 5 – 10 years relevant Supply Chain and Distribution experience in managerial position.
- The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence and must be willing to travel
- A sound understanding of the road Transport Act and all associated regulations with extensive experience in the full management of transportation operations is essential.
