Responsibilities:
- Maintain an overview of all travel arrangements (air, lodgings etc.) and operations
- Ensure the effective day-to-day running of the corporate travel department, dealing with issues promptly and escalating matters to management where appropriate.
- Ensure compliance in all aspects of travel procedures
- Dealing with a variety of company employees positioned globally
- Managing the team of corporate travel consultants. Motivating the team and ensuring the smooth operations of daily tasks
- Monitor the team’s workload, delegate, and distribute any work to help with the team’s performance.
- Dealing with any issues that may arise from the Corporate Travel Consultants
- Provide information on travel regulations, insurance, and general travel related queries
- Be involved in account management, analysis, and reporting
- Collaborate with Senior Management and Develop strategic policies and programs for corporate travel
- Drive continuous improvement of travel programs
- Keep all travel consultants up to date with any changes in policies and procedures
- Ensuring the travel team’s duties are completed according timeously and according to deadlines
- Manage relationships with travel agencies and vendors
- Negotiate contracts or rates with travel service providers
- Handle credit card programs and charges
- Regularly evaluate processes and procedures and encourage and suggest methods to improve area operations and efficiency
- Assist with confirming accommodation, car and shuttle booking when necessary (flights excluded)
Education & Skills:
- Minimum of a completed Travel Diploma
- Minimum of 5 years as a Travel Consultant, recent experience in a corporate travel environment
- Competency in GDS / flight operating systems (Galileo)
- Proven experience in a team leader or managerial position
- Knowledge of international travel regulations, customs and currencies
- Working knowledge of MS Office
