Key Responsibilities
- Welcome all guests warmly, creating a positive first impression through friendly, professional, and attentive service.
- Engage with guests throughout their visit, ensuring comfort, satisfaction, and timely support.
- Handle guest queries, concerns, and special requests efficiently, coordinating with kitchen and service teams where required.
- Present bills professionally and ensure a smooth, pleasant settlement experience.
- Promote guest feedback by sharing and collecting feedback questionnaires with billing folders.
- Accurately process all food and beverage billing transactions in line with company SOPs.
- Handle multiple payment methods, including cash, cards, forex, and house accounts, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Reconcile all payments against system records, ensuring correct posting and documentation.
- Prepare and manage house accounts prior to service.
- Maintain accurate guest and transactional records for auditing purposes.
- Manage and control the cash float, including verifying, balancing, and reconciling at the end of each shift.
- Investigate, substantiate, and report any cash variances promptly.
- Ensure the secure handling, storage, and transfer of floats and cash in line with procedures.
- Adhere to all cashiering Standard Operating Procedures and internal controls.
- Ensure all supporting financial documentation is complete, accurate, and audit-ready.
- Work collaboratively with service and kitchen teams to maintain smooth and efficient outlet operations.
Requirements
- Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
- Previous experience in a restaurant, bar, or hotel environment in a hosting, cashiering, or service role
- Basic knowledge of POS systems and financial transactions
- Experience handling cash, card, and other payment methods
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
- Naturally friendly and welcoming, with strong interpersonal skills
- Professional and well-presented, with a guest-first mindset
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial handling
- Calm and efficient under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- A team player with good communication skills
