STRATEGIC EXECUTIVE: TECHNICAL SERVICES (Elj)

1. Purpose:

Budgeting, planning, administration and control of the Technical Services Department (i.e. mechanical, plumbing and water, electrical, road construction, construction, sewer, fire department) and approval of buildings plans / inspection of buildings.

1. Key Performance Areas:

• Strategic planning, budgeting, overall administration and strategic advice.
• Employee management
• Mechanical & Workshop management
• Roads and Building
• Plumbing and sewer maintenance
• Water & Waste Management
• Fleet management

1. Qualifications:

B-Degree in Civil Engineering at NQF Level 7 with 8 years’ experience in the engineering field with at least 3 years at supervisory/managerial level A relevant post-graduate qualification NQF level 9 will be an added advantage.

1. Required skills

• Very strong logical reasoning ability, attentive to detail but not detail bound.
• Able to work with people constructively and use convincing arguments to get people committed to implementation of solutions.
• Knowledge of the Local Authorities Act, Labour Act and other relevant legislation
• Computer literacy
• Responsible, trustworthy, must be comfortable to take own initiative and adopt an innovative approach to problem solving.
• Sound managerial ability
• Code B Driving License
