Opportunity | Duty Description
• On-site co-ordination and management of Navachab’s project programme.
• Developing and implementing project management and administration policy, procedures, standards and systems appropriate to the project programme.
• Ensure that Navachab Mine’s Safety, Health & Environment Management systems are incorporated in all areas of Engineering/Processing to ensure compliance to OSHAS 18001, ISO14001 and QKR company best practises.
• Managing various inputs and requirements to the project programme, to ensure compliance with cost, quality and schedule constraints.
• Management of internal major maintenance or operational improvement projects.
• Effective management of commercial (contracts, procurement) and financial (budget/cost management) aspects related to projects.
• Working closely with the operational teams and internal service departments in order to achieve project success.
Opportunity | Duty Requirement(s)
• Relevant Tertiary qualifications from a reputable Institution.
• A minimum of 8 years’ experience in metallurgical process operations of which 5 years should be in a Projects Environment, all within mining industry.
• Sound knowledge and understanding of project management in the mining industry, including planning, design, estimating, procurement, personnel management and construction management, as well as the project life cycle (concept to close-out)
• Extensive experience in technical metallurgical / engineering roles with specific experience in base metal crushing / milling circuits will be advantageous;
• Excellent understanding of metallurgical / engineering processes and improvement / control strategies for large-scale, continuous operating mineral processing plants are essential.
• Experience in managing a portfolio of capital projects and administration thereof: from application to closure in a formal organisation; sound cost management principles
• Valid driver’s license
• Computer literacy: general office software, MS Project, ERP (preferably SAP).
• Fully proficient in English, with ability to produce concise and effective reports; other local languages would be an advantage.
