Key Responsibilities

• Co-ordinate and check that the vessels are properly manned according to DMA standards.
• Co-ordinate sea-going employees for medical check-ups.
• Co-ordinate purchasing of food and required statutory (legal) record books for the fishing vessels.
• Liaises with key personnel onboard to ensure stock control of supplied materials.
• Prepare purchase orders and invoices for authorization by Fleet Manger.
• Collects fishing vessels licenses and control the movement of the vessels at the jetty.
• Prepare the vessels craft license, pilot exemption foreign crew endorsement with DMA.
• Check to ensure that all fishing vessels are HACCP, IFS and SHE compliant.
• Ensure sufficient protective clothing to department staff according to established policies.
• Checks that all deadlines linked to any administrative functions of fleet are met at all times.
• Co-ordinate the collection and returning of laundry from vessels.

Requirements

• Grade 12 certificate or National Diploma in Business Administration/Operations management.
• Knowledge of international standards such as IFS, HACCP & GMP.
• Knowledge of Production efficiency processes.
• Must be computer literate.
• Excellent command of Microsoft Office Packages.
• Code B driver’s licence.
• Knowledge of vessel manning requirements as required.
