Minimum requirements:

A 4-year tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering (NQF Level 8) plus 2 years’ appropriate experience OR A Certificate of Competence as Chief Engineers Officer (Special degree).

Additional requirements:

A Certificate of Competency Deck/ Engineer Officer (Special degree), preferably Class 4 -F, 3, 2, and 1 or Fisherman High grade or Marine Motorman High Grade with 6 years’ appropriate experience on vessels and that such candidate is ready to undergo further extensive training on surveys and inspections of vessels OR a naval Architecture graduate, any type of Engineering related to the Marine industry. A valid Code B Namibian Drivers Licence.
