(Position based in Walvis Bay)

Job Purpose:

Ship Spares Coordinator takes responsibility for freight, movement of freight and bonded Ship spares.

Responsibilites and Duties:

• Daily communication with clients, sending updates on their cargo and happenings
• Arranging customs clearances
• Document and shipment tracking, checking, follow up and verification
• Fumigation and sealing of containers for applicable clients
• Send rate requests to estimations department in order to draw up quotes
• Send Documentation to C&F Admin Assistant to open IMP and EXP files
• Request C&F Admin Assistant to issue requisitions in order for PC’s to be sent to suppliers
• Co-ordinate incoming goods, storage and dispatch of items in a timely and efficient manner
• Ensure orders are completed on time, ready for collection
• Ensure timely transfer and recording of goods.
• Inspect all incoming goods and inform Freight Services Divisional Manager of any damages
• Ensure stocks are replenished from alternative storage areas
• Handling of Returns, Goods Inwards etc.
• Check Vehicle inspections done
• Oversee retrieval of items from third-party storage facility and update system accordingly.
• Regular warehouse checks
• Daily administration

Minimum Requirements and Competencies:

• Grade 12,
• Two years’ experience as Freight Coordinator
• Shipping and logistics knowledge of sea, road, air and courier shipments
• Asycuda ++ and Asycuda World
• Computer skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic admin knowledge
• Be able to delegate / manage and work independently as part of a team
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Know and understand client expectations
• Positive and strong attitude is needed
• Must be detail orientated
• Must be highly organised and have good time management skills
