SHEQ Officer

Key accountabilities

• Ensuring a safe and healthy working environment that complies with the health and safety legislation.
• Ensure all BWE employees in your area of responsibility fully understand the requirements of existing health and safety
• Ensure all accidents and reportable incidents are properly recorded, reported and investigated.
• Audit relevant BWE sites and prepare the Willis Blue trend tracker report.
• Ensure compliance to Contamination Control standards in your area of responsibility.
• Monitor & evaluate all appointed contractors in terms of the Labour Act, regulations and Barloworld Equipment’ SHEQ policies and
• Assist with risk identification, evaluation and development of safe work procedures.
• Conduct regular on-site appraisals of premises and housekeeping, electrical, mechanical and personal safe guards, fire protection and security standards.

Qualifications & Experience

• National Diploma or equivalent in Health & Safety Management.
• Grade 12 with a technical background
• At least 2 years’ experience in health and safety management.
• Sound knowledge of health and safety legislation.
• NEBOSH or equivalent certification.
• Investigative orientation (probing / information seeking).
• Computer literate (Sound knowledge of MS office).
• Analytical ability and assertiveness.
• Judgement and decision-making.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective interpersonal relationships.
• Knowledge of the ISO 45001:2018 and 14001:2015.
• Valid Driver’s licence.
