Dundee Precious Metals Tsumeb is in the process to revitalize the organization. We
are looking for very capable, dynamic and energetic Senior Process Engineers to be
part of this high performance team leading the change. The company offers outstanding
opportunity to grow personally and gain experience in a wide variety of process
technologies, including Pyrometallurgy, Metallurgical Acid Plant, Minerals Processing,
Oxygen Production and Water Treatment.
The incumbents will report to the Director: Technical Services or Operations Manager
and be accountable for:
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Legal, Safety, Health and Environmental compliance as well as promoting a safety
culture in the area of responsibility.
• Advanced technical support for the Smelter.
• Process and quality control and compliance through clear definition, implementation
and maintenance of processes.
• Metal Accounting and reporting by accurately and timely accounting for pay metals
throughout the process.
• Short- and long-term planning incorporating operational, feed stock and maintenance
plans and scheduling outputs.
• Research and development through embracing and employing latest technologies to
increase throughput.
• Implement automation initiatives and establish and improve process control
processes.
• Developing and implementing Advanced Control Technologies for the smelter.
• Developing Process Safety Management system.
• People and performance management to unlock full potential of the human capital
and create a rewarding employee experience.
• Leading by example through compliance with the company values, mission and vision
and ensuring compliance of all company policies and rules.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• A Bachelor’s Degree or Bachelors of Technology in Metallurgy, Chemical
Engineering or Process Engineering.
• Minimum of seven (7) years working experience in a complex pyrometallurgical,
hydrometallurgical processing operations or similar environment.
• Knowledge of base metal smelting process, Sulphuric Acid, gas thermodynamics
and refractory technology will be advantageous.
• Experience in advance process control systems and Tailings Disposal Facilities will
be an added advantage.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to positively influence people and interact
with diverse stakeholders.
• The candidate should have good business acumen, a delivery focus and cognitive
abilities.
