Opportunity | Duty Description

Conduct offsite monitoring activities of the National Payment System as per the Bank of Namibia’s policies.

Conduct onsite inspections as per the Bank’s policies.

Engage with various Payment System structures in line with the Payment System Management Act.

Engage with other regulatory authorities, both domestic and cross-border, in pursuance of the objectives of the National Payment System’s Oversight function.

Attend to any other ad hoc activities as assigned by supervisor.

Opportunity | Duty Requirement(s)

A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in / IT Audit / Finance and Banking / Data Sciences

At least 3 years’ experience in the areas of Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC), with a particular focus on IT. A good understanding of Payment Systems will be a distinct advantage

Experience in the area of Data Analytics.

Skills/Abilities:

Strong and proven record in actively and skillfully organizing, conceptualizing, applying, analyzing, synthesizing, and evaluating high-volume, high-impact data and information.

Advanced Microsoft Office Skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word.

Payment Systems Training or equivalent.

Strong capabilities to apply broad and deep critical thinking, and to objectively analyse and evaluate payments systems matters in order to form sound arguments and judgement about the soundness of the National Payment System.

Thorough analysis of National Payment System data and information and the ability to present critical perspectives thereon.

Attention to detail is a crucial trait.

Strong drive to actively participate and contribute to matters concerning the National Payment System and the Oversight thereof.

Strong abilities to communicate effectively and with impact.

Strong negotiation skills.

Strong problem-solving skills.

Exceptional abilities in the areas of time and priority management.

An exceptionally proactive mindset and approach i.e. self-starter, taking initiative to all activities, tasks and projects, is crucial for this role.
