SENIOR FINANCIAL MANAGER
WINDHOEK, NAMIBIA
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
⦁ Primarily responsible for managing the Finance and Administration department, overseeing the procurement responsibilities, and supporting the manufacturing and sales departments of NEO Paints Factory.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
⦁ Controls General Ledger and Information on accounting software.
⦁ Responsible for annual budgets and assisting departments to manage and monitor their budgets.
⦁ Responsible for all aspects of preparing and presenting monthly management accounts
⦁ Preparation and compilation of the annual financial statements including preparation for annual external audits and liaison with the external auditors.
⦁ Responsible for pricing reviews and updates and ensuring correct pricing in the accounting system.
⦁ Responsible for financial data analysis in support of different departments as well as the Managing Director.
⦁ Responsible for the tax affairs of the business ensuring compliance with the various taxes.
⦁ Maintaining the fixed asset register and ensuring annual property valuations are conducted.
⦁ Assistance with payroll-related matters including being responsible for management’s monthly payroll and sales commissions.
⦁ Managing staff within the Administration and Finance Department, including maintaining and managing working relationships with all members of the management team.
⦁ Overseeing the procurement function of the business, specifically for product manufacturing.
⦁ Overseeing the treasury function within the business, including working capital, cash management, and funding requirements of the business (including capital expenditure budgeting).
⦁ Assistance with company secretarial and compliance-related matters, including human resources.
⦁ Involvement and assistance with daily operational matters.
⦁ Assistance to and working closely with the Managing Director, providing strategic support to the business.
⦁ Other ad hoc tasks as required.
QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES, AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
⦁ Minimum B. Com/Accounting Degree and/or relevant accounting qualification. Candidate must have completed articles with an audit firm. A qualified chartered accountant (CA) will be an added advantage.
⦁ A minimum of 5 years at the senior financial management level.
⦁ Experience in a manufacturing environment will be an added advantage.
⦁ Exceptional analytical skills with excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
⦁ Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Microsoft Navision experience will be to the candidate’s advantage including a good understanding of payroll vis-a-vis VIP.
⦁ Strong leadership skills and personal motivation to grow are essential.
⦁ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
⦁ Results-driven individual and disciplined.
⦁ Must be able and willing to travel.
