Position: Senior Exploration Geologist

Votorantim Metals Namibia (Pty) Ltd is offering a position as Senior Exploration Geologist within their operation based at Otavi, Namibia.

Contract period: 6 months renewable for another 6 months. Thereafter one year contract with possibility for a permanent position Successful Candidate should bo available immediately

Requirements:

• Bachelor s degree in Geology
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in exploration for base metals (Pb. Zn, Cu)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office package (Excel. Word. PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of GIS
• Desirable Leapfrog knowledge
• Valid Code BE Dnvers Licence with 4×4 Driving experience
• Flexibility to work in different regions in the country

Duties:

• Perform geology mapping and create cross-sections in different scales (lithology, structures, alteration)
• Elaborate soil sampling grids and monitor and validate its execution. Integrate lab results with geology and interpret it
• Elaborate drilling program (diamond and RC drilling), monitor its execution and supervise drilling crew
• Describe core, implement Quality Controls and organize sampling plan
• Data integration and interpretation of geophysics, geochemistry, geology and drilling
• Target generation
• Identify, recommend, monitor and execute the adoption of measures to eliminate or mitigate HSE nsks and escalating the problem when it impacts the business
• Compile relevant reports for submission to the company and government institutions
