SENIOR ACCOUNTANT – Acorn Finance

About the position
We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team. The accountant would manage a portfolio of up to 10 clients and handle all aspects from data entry to monthly reporting. The position reports directly to the Financial Manager.

Acorn Finance is a boutique financial management firm that specialises in providing complete financial management services, with a special focus on international companies who are establishing operations in Namibia. Due to our extensive financial expertise, and comprehensive service offerings, our clients are able to completely eliminate the need for an in-house finance department.

Responsibilities:
• Liaise with clients on monthly basis and be pro-active in problem solving.
• Submit payments on the bank accounts on behalf of clients.
• Process invoices, bank statements and other supporting documents into the accounting system.
• Reconcile ledger control accounts.
• Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, suppliers ledger, customer ledger and general ledger.
• Bring the books to the trial balance stage.
• Process monthly journals.
• Submit VAT returns bi-monthly.
• Submit monthly reports to Financial managers.
• Report to the Financial Managers on a regular basis.

Requirements:
• Accounting degree beneficial.
• 3 to 5 years’ experience working as an accountant.
• Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
• Outstanding communication skills.
• Strong organizational and administration skills.
