The incumbent will report to the Manager: Maintenance Planning and be accountable
for:
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Ensure adherence to all Legal, Health, Safety and Environment standards and
policies.
• Lead by example through compliance with the company purpose and values.
• Collect all planned maintenance work orders with due dates.
• Confirm availability of the spare parts and other resources required for the planned
maintenance work.
• Provide input into the prioritization rules for maintenance scheduling to ensure that it
is feasible.
• Prioritize planned and resourced work orders according to the agreed rules as defined
in the Work Planning and Control standard, typically: WO type, WO priority, asset
criticality, grouping tasks on the same asset.
• Compile an optimized maintenance schedule.
• Prepare for weekly scheduling meetings with the Maintenance and Production teams
and present the proposed maintenance schedule for the following week.
• Compile weekly reports on overdue work orders and work management KPIs i.e.,
schedule attainment.
• Monitor and improve the scheduling function.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Grade 12 certificate with a minimum of 23 points.
• N6 and or National Diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering
• A Project Management certificate will be an added advantage.
• A minimum of eight (8) years’ work experience in engineering discipline in heavy
industry is required.
• A minimum of Five (5) years Supervisory experience.
• Experience in project management setup will be a distinct advantage.
Experience in refractory relining is an added advantage
• Experience working with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems,
MAXIMO is an added advantage.
• Ability to create and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues and
service providers.
• Good communication (written/oral) and presentation skills
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite, Excellent command of MS Projects).
• Code B Driver’s License.
