Key Responsibilities
- Achieving agreed sales and profitability targets through the sale of new, used and rental machines.
- Establishing, developing and maintaining strong business relationships with existing and prospective Customers to drive Customer retention and generate new business opportunities.
- Identifying, qualifying and converting sales opportunities through proactive Customer engagement, networking and regular Customer visits.
- Developing and maintaining a healthy sales pipeline that supports the achievement of short, medium and long-term sales objectives.
- Sound product knowledge
- Promoting and selling the full range of Barloworld Namibia machine solutions, including new machines, used equipment and rental offerings, by applying a consultative and value-based sales approach.
- Identifying Customer operational requirements and recommend the most appropriate equipment solutions to maximise productivity, efficiency and lifecycle value.
- Preparing accurate, competitive and timely quotations and commercial proposals that meet Customer requirements and Company standards.
- Following up on quotations, proposals and Customer enquiries to maximise quotation conversion rates and achieve sales targets.
- Negotiating commercial terms within approved Company guidelines to secure profitable business.
- Identifying new business opportunities, marketing segments and Customer applications that contribute to revenue growth and increased market share.
- Conducting Customer site visits and operational assessments to understand equipment applications and providing technically appropriate equipment recommendations.
- Developing equipment replacement, expansion and fleet renewal opportunities by understanding Customers’ operational plans and equipment lifecycle requirements.
- Coordinating machine sales from quotation through to delivery, ensuring all Customer requirements, contractual obligations and delivery timelines are achieved.
- Working closely with internal departments to ensure efficient machine availability, order processing, delivery, commissioning and Customer handover.
- Maintaining accurate Customer records, sales forecasts and opportunity pipelines to support effective business planning and reporting.
- Monitoring market trends, competitor activities and developments within the construction and industrial sectors to identify opportunities for business growth.
- Building long-term strategic partnerships with Customers through regular engagement, professional service and ongoing account management.
- Ensuring high levels of Customer satisfaction by providing responsive sales support before, during and after the sales process.
- Representing Barloworld Namibia professionally at Customer engagements, industry events and business development activities; strengthening the Company’s market presence and reputation.
- Operating in full compliance with Company policies, commercial governance requirements and health, safety and environmental standards.
Requirements
- Qualified Artisan
- Certificate or Diploma in Sales, Business Management, Marketing or a related Commercial discipline
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in a sales, business development or Customer-facing commercial role
- Experience in the mining, construction, heavy equipment or related industries will be an added advantage
- Demonstrated ability to identify business opportunities, build Customer relationships and achieve sales targets
- Understanding of consultative, solution-based and value selling principles
- Basic financial and commercial acumen, including pricing, profitability and business case evaluation
- Sound understanding of Customer relationship management principles and sales pipeline management
- Knowledge of heavy equipment applications and the mining or construction industries will be advantageous
- Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to prepare quotations, sales proposals, forecasts and Customer reports accurately
- Strong Customer relationship management and interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills
- Self-motivated, results-oriented and able to work independently
- Strong business development mindset with the drive and energy to grow market share and sales revenue
- Well-developed planning, organisational and time management skills
- High levels of integrity, professionalism and accountability
- Ability to analyse Customer needs and provide commercially viable equipment solutions
