Safety Inspector | Eagle Night Watch Security

Main duties/Responsibilities:

Conducts SSHER inspections

Observes high risk work activity to identify and address sub-standard conditions and sub-standard behaviour (acts)

Carry out observations in the field to identify; PPE compliance, faulty tools and equipment, housekeeping issues,

permit compliance

Liaise and assist relevant area SHE Representatives during inspections

Submit inspection reports

Assist Line Management in carrying out task specific risk assessments and Job Safety Analysis (JSA)

Assist SSHER team in compiling and reviewing baseline risk register

Assist SSHER and Line Management during incident scene management and data gathering (e.g. statements, photographs, documentation)

Assist SSHER and Line Management during incident investigations

Inform employees and contractors in the correct use of safety equipment as well as safe working methods

Recommend SSHER periodic topics/slogans/campaigns based on field observations

Non-conformances addressed by regular reports submitted to SSHER and Line Management

Active participation and contribution towards effective and responsible working relationships

Discusses and sets objectives to improve relationships with co-workers

Liaise with ER on discharge of disciplinary measures

 

Requirements:

National Diploma or equivalent in Health & Safety Management At least 2 years’ experience in health and safety management. Experience on a mine will be an added advantage

Knowledge of Namibia’s Labour Law

Knowledge of Health and Safety Laws

International Health and Safety Bodies

Computer applications — MS Office Applications software Some investigative knowledge

Ability to work independently

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Comply with company policies and procedures

Namibian Citizen

Police Clearance Certificate

Valid Driver’s License

The Location: Swakopmund
