The Roads Authority was established in terms of Section 2 of the Roads Authority Act, Act no. 17 of 1999. The
Authority fully became operational on the 01 April 2000. The Roads Authority is responsible for the management of
national road network with a view of achieving a safe and efficient road sector.

Duty Station 1x REHOBOTH, 1x SWAKOPMUND, 1x USAKOS, 1x KARASBURG,
1x KEETMANSHOOP, 1x MARIENTAL, 1x OPUWO, 1x GROOTFONTEIN

Primary Purpose

To assist the Chief Engineering Technician with contract administration of
road maintenance projects in the area through regular visual inspections on
roads & related activities according to contract specifications

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

– Diploma (at NQF level 6) in Civil Engineering
– Three (3) years’ experience in road construction and maintenance
environment
– Code B driving Licence

Key Performance Areas

– Conduct visual road inspections
– Assist in the execution of Assigned functions
– Conducts Site Supervision
– Performance of basic road maintenance activities

Competencies/Skills

– Project Management
– Planning and prioritizing skills
– Report writing skills
– Knowledge of the relevant road legislation
