About the job Retail Manager
INDUSTRIES: Jewellery Store
CONTRACT DETAILS: Permanent
POSITION LOCATION: Windhoek, Khomas, Namibia
DESCRIPTION:
The Jewellery Retail Manager will manage the store and outlets through the team to maximize profit by delivering the optimum level of customer service, whilst maintaining the brand image and philosophy.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Sales
- Maximize contribution by achieving sales budgets and controlling costs
- Analyze sales figures and forecasting of sales and costs
- Analyze, interpret and communicate trends to facilitate planning
- Deal with sales and support team in transactions, whenever needed and especially on large transactions and VIP customers
- Assure all sales are correctly processed on Vend systems for Shops/Outlets
- Banking – Petty Cash management and cash paid into the Bank in the correct currency, keeping records and tracks
- Assure daily register is operated correctly in the POS system and all orders processed accurately
- Maintain integrity of all data processed on all systems, to assure accurate reports are generates, including correct price files, cost prices, conversion rates, taxes, etc.
- Assure all reports are completed in a timely manner (daily reports, monthly reports, weekly reports, monthly VAT statements as needed, etc.
- Set monthly KPI’s to the team (sales target, footfall, number of invoices/transactions and new customer, etc.)
People Management:
- Manage and motivate the Shop/Outlet teams to increase sales and profit efficiently.
- Assure Rota’s are completed every Sunday for the next 4 weeks, providing even cover during all periods of the day based on business needs, especially weekends and public holidays.
- Organize the content and frequency of staff training to assure they deliver the highest possible levels of customer service and performance.
- Manage the performance and development of the team, including disc
- Responsible for management of time and attendance, inclusive of lateness, pending days, sick leave and annual leave.
- Responsible for adherence within the Store/Outlets of all company policies and procedures, as per contracts, policies and procedures manual.
- Support on providing feedback to improve procedures.
- Responsible within the store for health and safety compliance.
- Deal with staffing issues such as interviewing potential staff (together with higher management), conducting appraisals, performance reviews and disciplinaries.
- Update teams on business performance, new initiatives and other pertinent issues.
- Assure Dress Codes are always adhered to by staff, with pictures submitted to Alexander on a weekly basis.
Customer Service:
- Manage the customer experience as part of the client strategy.
- Respond to customer complaints and comments in a timely manager, via email, phone or in person, as needed to provide the best possible experience.
- Supervise and assure the services offered are delivered in the most effective way, including
– Repairs: Tracking all repairs.
– Sending repairs to Mauritius-Zimbabwe with NRV (non-retail value procedures)
– Proactively liaise with Customers about time frames and potential issues.

REQUIREMENTS:
- High level of customer service and excellent writing and verbal skills.
- People management.
- Communication, adaptability and resilience, as well as a good team player.
- Self-motivation and motivation of others, leadership and communication skills.
- Commercial acumen.
- Problem solving, proactivity and eye for detail, always focusing on improvement of systems.
- IT proficient and understand of modern technology, Excel, databases, Microsoft and Google apps, POS systems, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Grade 12 matric
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience on a similar management position for at least 3 years.
- Experience effectively managing a similar team size.
- Previous experience in exceptional customer service.
- Experience of work in an environment where high emphasis is placed on customer service, product presentation and commercial management.
