RESEACH CORDINATOR – Tim Bila

 DESCRIPTION

An exciting and challenging opportunity is available for a Part-time Research Coordinator at the exclusive Tim Bila . Nature Reserve close to Omaruru. Tim Bila Nature Reserve offers prime conservation practices complemented and supported by exclusive ecotourism.

Main Responsibilities:

Leading volunteer and student groups.

•Delivering educational presentations.

•Assessing health, behaviour, and ecology of focal species within both protected and unprotected habitats.

• Undertaking hikes with individuals of different fitness levels.

•Carrying out regular game census.

•Work as part of a team to help with the smooth running and maintenance of the project and reserve. •Collecting data, completing analysis, and producing reports on focal-animal species found on the reserve, as well as other required data.
Requirements:

• Preference will be given to a Namibian citizen.
•Minimum of a MSc in Zoology, Wildlife Conservation, Behaviour, or an equivalent subject.

•Minimum 1+ years field experience involving animal research, data collection, and analysis

. •Proven experience in creating and managing research projects.
• Proven experience in having published scientific journal articles.

• Excellent time management to ensure administration
work is completed as required.
• Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with international guests of various ages and nationalities.

• Able to complete work self-sufficiently to complete job tasks and responsibilities.

• Able to work well under pressure

. • Strong interest in the rehabilitation and post-release monitoring of focalspecies.

• Must be fluent in English, and have excellent written,
oral, and interpersonal skills.

•Must be computer literate and experienced in using MS Officeprograms.

• Must have a good understanding of QGIS and statistical programmes

• Must be a holder of a valid Driver’s license.
• None of the work can be done remotely
