What are the common day-to-day responsibilities of a Relief Teacher in a Namibian pre-primary/junior primary setting?
Relief teachers are responsible for maintaining classroom order, delivering pre-planned lessons, and ensuring the safety and well-being of young learners. You will also assist with daily routines, supervise activities, and provide support to ensure continuity in the absence of the regular teacher.
What can a relief teacher expect regarding local work culture and expectations in Namibian schools?

What are the realistic career progression opportunities for a Relief Teacher in Namibia?
While a relief teacher role is often temporary, it can serve as a valuable stepping stone to permanent teaching positions within the education sector. Gaining experience and demonstrating dedication can lead to opportunities for professional development and eventual employment as a full-time teacher.
What typical benefits, such as leave or medical aid, are usually offered for a temporary Relief Teacher position in Namibia?
As a temporary position, benefits might differ from permanent roles; typically, statutory leave provisions are provided based on the duration of employment. Access to medical aid or pension schemes is less common for temporary staff unless explicitly stated by the employer.

Applicants should submit a comprehensive CV, certified copies of qualifications, and a cover letter highlighting relevant experience and passion for early childhood education. Employers seek candidates who are reliable, flexible, possess strong classroom management skills, and can adapt quickly to new school environments.
