You’ll conduct facility support visits across regional health facilities, mentor frontline staff on integrated HIV/TB service delivery, and assist with data review using DHIS2 and the Namibian Electronic Medical Record (EMR). You’ll also participate in regional technical working groups, contribute to quarterly reporting aligned with MOHSS requirements, and support outbreak response or quality improvement activities as needed.

Respect for hierarchy and collaborative decision-making with regional and district health teams is essential, and advisors are expected to engage respectfully with traditional leaders and community structures where relevant. Punctuality, adaptability to infrastructure constraints (e.g., limited internet or transport), and fluency in at least one local language — such as Oshiwambo, Otjiherero, or Rukwangali — significantly strengthen effectiveness in field engagements.

Many advisors advance into senior technical roles such as National HIV/TB Program Manager, Provincial Health Director, or technical leads with UN agencies or global health partners operating in Namibia. Others pursue further academic training or transition into policy development roles with the Ministry of Health and Social Services (MOHSS) or the National AIDS Council (NAC).
