Erongo Marine Enterprises (PTY) LTD (“EME”) is a proudly Namibian registered fishing company, based in Walvis Bay and operates in the Horse Mackerel fishery. EME has an exemplary record in respect of its fishing operations as well as its focus on socio-economic investment and development, both regionally and nationally. We are looking to fill the following vacancy:

Refrigeration Operator

Purpose of the role: To control, maintain and operate all refrigeration equipment on the vessel. Report to Refrigeration Engineer

Minimum role requirements & experience

STW95 F Marine Class 6 Marine Engineering with specialization in Refrigeration or equivalent qualification
Five (5) years sea-going experience on large pumped circulation industrial refrigeration plants
Experience in the horse mackerel industry and/or on horse mackerel midwater trawlers (added advantage)
Required to work pre-dominantly at sea (80% working at sea).
Assist with operational refrigeration systems on the vessel
Diagnosing malfunctions and defects in equipment
Reading blueprints and electrical and electronic schematics
Operate tools, gauges, and testing equipment of refrigeration systems
Assist in installing, repairing, and maintaining refrigeration equipment
