QUALITY CONTROLLER – Namibia Dairies

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
To monitor the quality of products produced in the factory and ensure that they are in adherence to set standards and product specifications, by performing product sampling and inspections. Continuously review and improve the production process to ensure that it is of adherence to the ISO standards and Food Safety standards.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Collect, test and record samples as per sampling plan to monitor conformance to specifications
Conduct hygiene and safety analysis and tests on factory machine swabs, hand swabs, food safety swabs and air plates
Re-sample all out of specification results and report timeously to Supervisor Quality Control & Systems and lab Supervisor.
Verify, record and account for all equipment/instruments used in the lab
Accurately record details of all results on quality control charts and report deviations to manager Supervisor Quality Control & Systems immediately
Conduct Quality Assurance Inspections and spot checks in the factory according to the sampling plan and immediately report deviations from specifications to Quality Assurance Supervisor and Quality Assurance Manager.
Complete and maintain check sheets as per schedule to comply with Food Safety requirements
Engage with and support Quality and Production teams to optimize the product quality and processes in line with ISO & Food Standards.
Support the implementation and improvement of quality control processes
Communicate authorized quality related concession to Quality Assurance Supervisor
Give on the job training to processing and packaging personnel on quality related matters
Required to perform specific night shift and tests and report on results of all sampling done.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:
Grade 12
BSc Food Science and Technology/ Microbiology Degree.
2 years’ experience in a factory/ laboratory environment preferably in the food/ FMCG environment
