I. Main Function
The CBNRM Governance & Responsible Stewardship Program Coordinator is a strong technical position with the following main functions.
⦁ Support the WWF Namibia’s CBNRM Governance & Responsible Stewardship Program Director in the implementation of the WWF Namibia Strategic Plan (2022-2026), through effective and strategic project management and coordination.
⦁ Serve as the WWF Namibia focal point on the green economic development pathways, to develop, pilot and implement green economy initiatives that considers and balances the economic, environmental and social issues.
⦁ Successfully manage identified projects to deliver on their objectives.
⦁ Successfully manage identified projects to deliver on all contract obligations effectively and in a timely manner.
⦁ Oversee M&E for each project, with support of the Project Officer/s.
⦁ Provide programmatic administrative support to the CBNRM Governance & Responsible Stewardship Program.
⦁ Support CBNRM Governance & Responsible Stewardship Program through the identification and drafting of concept documents and proposals to funding organizations and/or WWF National Offices.
⦁ Provide technical support to the Namibian Government. NGO partners and communities including training and mentorship with regard to CBNRM governance, responsible stewardship, and other relevant technical matters including climate change resilience and green economic development.
II. Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience
1. Master’s degree in Natural Resources Management, Environment, or Development related field.
2. Six Years of relevant working experience – in a program or project management senior role.
3. Program administrative experience (minimum 4 years) with demonstrated success in project budgeting and reporting experience.
4. Ability to analyze, prioritize, and complete work with little or minimal supervision.
5. Proven abilities in experience in networking with governments, international conservation organizations, donors, research institutions, and stakeholders will be an advantage.
6. Evidence and ability to directly formulate (co-develop/co-design) complex projects in an inclusive manner.
7. Ability to facilitate the work of junior staff, take solution-oriented initiative, use independent objective judgment, and work effectively as a member of a team.
8. Experience in community-based natural resources management (CBNRM) or community conservation, business, and livelihood development.
9. Strong experience of M&E of project implementation.
10. Direct involvement and familiarity with donor-funded programs or projects will serve as an advantage.
