PRODUCTION SHIFT OVERSEERS

QKR Namibia Navachab Gold Mine, situated in Karibib, Namibia seeks to appoint a suitably experienced and qualified Production Shift Overseer The candidate will be responsible to supervise the overall day to day performance, co­ordination, management and maintenance of the specified mining shift to assist in obtaining maximum productivity, efficiency, quality, service and profitabrfity for the mine while upholding all aspects of compliance and standards and adhering to budget and prescribed criteria. The candidate will support the mining operations, through execution of the mining plans and schedules by organizing, control and coordinating all relevant functions as defined by such mining plans and schedules. The position reports to the Production Coordinator

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Supervise to ensure that the shift team is focused and delivers key priorities to include, but not limited to. high standards of health and safety and good communication.
• Maintain excellent operations and standards and assist in adhering to budget constraints and targets
• Meet your targets and those of the team as a whole.
• Contribute to the overall development and maintenance of all projects and carry-out alocated shift tasks/ projects within set time fcmits.
• Contribute to training and development of the team.
• Perform and supervise all duties in compliance with health and safety and all related legal/statutory regulations, professional duties, responsibilities and obligations and insert as applicable.
• Ensure day to day shift planning and co-ordination of production levels, workers, equipment levels and supplies
• Ensure daily schedule of work/ rotas/ shifts and oversee shift process and providing appropriate instruction to designated team
• Ensure adherence to all aspects of safety issues, particularly regarding mining equipment, raising any concerns
• Tracking production rate of the mine within specified criteria and adhering to applicable plans (such as emergency planning) deal with issues/problems as they arise to minimize impact on production or immediately
• Liaise with team/ contractors/ suppliers and other stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate data/ records/ documentation.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, policies and procedures, codes of practice and legislation including health and safety.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum Grade 12 or Equivalent Qualification
• Post Metric qualfication in Mining Engineering or Mineral Resource Management or Mine Surveyor will be advantageous
• 5 years’ experience in open cast/ surface mining, of which three (3) years should have been at supervisory level
• Proven skills and competency in Microsoft Office
• Valid Open cast/ surface mining Blasting Ticket/ Certificate
• Valid driver’s license.
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure
