THE POSITION: PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST
The incumbent will report to the Strategic Procurement Manager and be accountable for:
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
· Legal, Safety, Health and Environmental compliance as well as promoting a safety culture in the area of responsibility.
· Administering the Tender & Contracting process.
· Safeguarding Tender and Contracts Data in an efficient and auditable manner and ensuring availability to authorized personnel.
· Ensure all stakeholders are updated on a continuous basis, on the status of tenders and contracts.
· Assist the Projects Office with scope definitions, Bill of Quantity (BOQ) composition, procurement strategies, bid clarifications and contract execution.
· Conduct proper commercial evaluations on received bids, in accordance with procurement best practices and sound financial principles.
· Plan and execute contracted procurement agreements, for frequently purchased inventory, to reduce repetitive purchasing and drive commercial benefits through negotiations.
· Assist with Key Performance Indicators (KPI) reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Econometrics, Project Management or Engineering.
· A minimum of 3 to 5 years of Project Management and Procurement, Tender and Contracts Management experience.
· Sound experience with the sourcing of services and technical equipment.
· Good experience with various types of contracts like EPC, EPCM, Turnkey, Reimbursable, etc.
· Good experience with standard contracts like FIDIC or NEC.
· Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
· Knowledge of procurement processes.
· Knowledge of Contract Law (as an advantage).
· Financial acumen, analytical, planning and organizing skills.
· Good communications, presentation, written, verbal and excellent negotiation skills.
· Ability to pay attention to detail.
· Must be results-oriented.
