PRIVATE BANKER-1 – FNB Namibia

Most banks in Namibia require a relevant bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field, plus several years of retail or relationship banking experience. A Certified Financial Planner (CFP) or RE5 regulatory exam certification is often an advantage for this role.

You would manage a portfolio of high-net-worth clients, advising them on lending, investments, and wealth preservation while ensuring compliance with Bank of Namibia regulations. Daily work includes client meetings, credit applications, portfolio reviews, and coordinating with internal specialists such as fiduciary or investment teams.

You are expected to be proactive in growing your portfolio, meet revenue targets, and often work beyond standard hours for client events or urgent requests.

You can typically progress to Private Banker-2 or Senior Private Banker, then move into roles like Private Banking Team Leader, Wealth Manager, or Head of Private Banking. Growth depends on your portfolio performance, client acquisition, and completion of advanced wealth management or leadership qualifications.
