Opportunity | Duty Description
Establishing the infrastructure required for the project office including the administration and logistics budget as well as its logistics requirements.
Managing the Project office by ensuring effective and efficient overall administration of all aspects of the project.
Ensuring effective, timeous logistics arrangements in liaison with other work stream project coordinators.
Managing establishment and updating of network asset information on the GIS and other Asset Management Systems.
Facilitating effective project budgeting by ensuring that expenditure associated with administration, logistics, training, recruitment, marketing and public relations are monitored and accounted for.
Liaising with departments in NamPower on new projects with reference to planning, design, integration into existing power system, access roads, construction, inspection, testing and commissioning.
Controlling and managing of call of quotations and tenders for distribution projects, evaluation of quotations and tenders and submissions for quotations and tenders to NamPower’s tender board.
Controlling and managing of appointment of contractors to ensure maximum utilization and completion of distribution projects according to deadlines and budgets.
Performing work-studies in order to improve efficiency and maintain a safe working environment on construction sites.
Project feedback communication to ensure the continuous flow of work and cost and time efficient completion of project.
Doing the final inspections and take-over of completed distribution projects and hand-over to operations and maintenance department.
Co-coordinating between departments in NamPower and contractors for the construction, testing and commissioning of distribution projects.
Ensuring that contractors comply with all relevant SHE standards and regulations, BEE standards and regulations.
Appointing and managing consultants for specialized tasks.
Investigating complaints lodged by landowners in connection with damages incurred during and after construction period.
Liaising with Ministries and Government institutions to facilitate the implementation of rural electrification projects.
Liaising with the RED’s on new rural electrification projects with reference to planning, design, integration into existing power system, access roads, construction, inspection, testing and commissioning.
Responsible for environmental impact assessment studies for distribution and transmission lines.
Conducting safety and environmental audits to ensure risks and potential hazards have been identified and addressed.
Opportunity | Duty Requirement(s)
- National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (NQF Level 6)
- Atleast five (5) years relevant working experience
