POSITION: PHARMACIST ASSISTANT
Purpose of the Position
The Pharmacist Assistant supports the efficient operation of the Pharmacy Department through medication dispensing, stock control and administrative support in accordance with pharmacy standards and hospital procedures.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the dispensing, distribution and crediting of medication to patients, wards and theatre in accordance with approved pharmacy procedures.
- Assist with stock management activities, including receiving, storing, issuing, monitoring and counting pharmaceutical stock to ensure accuracy and availability.
- Maintain accurate pharmacy records, documentation and data capturing in compliance with hospital and regulatory requirements.
- Provide support to Pharmacists, Nursing Staff and Doctors to promote effective medication management and quality patient care.
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy policies, standard operating procedures and applicable healthcare regulations while maintaining a safe and organised pharmacy environment.
Requirements
- Grade 12 (or equivalent) Certificate and a recognised Pharmacist Assistant qualification.
- Registration with the Health Professions Council of Namibia (HPCNA) as a Pharmacist Assistant.
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a pharmacy environment, preferably within a hospital setting.
- Strong communication, organisational and computer skills, with the ability to work accurately under pressure and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
