PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Operating the whole regrind system to ensure regrind flour and vermicelli is available for production purposes.

KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Get instructions from the Assistant Pasta Maker on what to grind.
• Start up and set up all regrind machines, including the mill.
• Grind vermicelli in semolina room.
• Control levels of vermicelli bin and regrind flour bins.
• Bag off vermicelli and regrind flour when required.
• Weigh and close regrind flour, vermicelli bags and dust collect and rework bags.
• Ensure correct date is written on labels and pack vermicelli and regrind flour separately on pallets.
• Charge oldest regrind flour first.
• Ensure regrind flour bin is selected before charging the regrind flour.
• Bag off sweepings from regrind process as well as weigh close and label sweepings.
• Report amount of sweepings to the Assistant Pasta Maker.
• Do stock counting of all products in semolina, flour room and Pasta store with month stock taking.
• Keep Semolina and flour room neat and tidy.
• Prepare semolina room and flour room for fumigation and start up purposes.
• Remove used boxes and plastic bags to the skip.
• Empty dustbin in flour room on a daily basis as well as keep stationary and movable hopper clean.
• Assist with the charging of semolina and/or regrind flour.
• Ensure semolina/regrind flour is charged to the correct bin and correct amount of bags are charged.
• Empty the over tale/overflow drums of all the flour scales in the flour room at the screen hoppers.
• Report any defect and problems with the over tale/overflow drums and equipment in the flour room to the Assistant Pasta Maker
• Help to keep flour room and equipment clean.
• Carry out any tasks given by the superiors.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION

• Grade 12 (NQF4)
• 1-year relevant experience in a technical or production environment
• Proficient in written and spoken English
• Must be able to work shifts
• Namibian citizen
• Availability to work overtime, weekends and on public holiday
