VACANCY: Operational Manager

Retort Charcoal Producers I Pty) ltd Is an upcoming large scale, technologically advanced charcoal production project aiming to produce a minimum of 7000 tonnes of export grade and f-SC certified charcoal per annum. A suitable operational manager is being sought, having experience in managing heavy machinery, teams and practical challenges. The person will be required to live on or near site (35 km south east ofKombat).

• Manage and oversee the company operations, including the harvesting, stockpile management, carbonization, processing, and transport components.
• Oversee and manage day to day human resource issues and liaise wtth an outsourced human resource manager on issues of contracts, leave and payroll.
• Work with the appointed financial manager, asset manager. Forestry
  Stewardship Council experts, and oversight team of the company.
• Identify and implement improvements to the operational activities of the company.
• Develop and implement a skills transfer strategy for the employees of the company.
• Assist the implementation team on the construction, erection and commissioning of the plant, site and equipment.
• Assist the management team wtth the recruitment and training of project staff.
• Minimum of five years of relevant experience, managing heavy ma­chinery and processing lines.
• Minimum three years’ experience managing a team.
• Relevant engineering degree will be an advantage.
• Languages: English and Afrikaans required Other local languages an advantage.
