Key Responsibilities
- Costing & Database Management: Maintain a comprehensive Bill of Materials (BOM) and product costing database. Ensure raw material, packaging, and labour inputs accurately reflect real-world manufacturing conditions.
- KPI System Design: Design, implement, and maintain data capturing systems to track real-time production performance and related operational KPIs.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor actual manufacturing performance against standard costs and benchmarks to flag waste, idle time, or process inefficiencies.
- Variance & Profitability Analysis: Analyse product profitability levels across different lines, identifying the root economic and operational causes for variances.
- Management Advisory: Formally advise executive leadership and plant management on operational performance, variance trends, and margin improvement strategies.
- Projections & Forecasting: Maintain and continuously update rolling business projections, assisting the broader finance team with compiling annual operating budgets and rolling forecasts.
- Build Budgets: Assisting with compiling budgets and rolling forecasts. Track and monitor actual figures to budget.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, and/or Cost and Management Accounting.
- Professional qualification such as CIMA will be a distinct advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant financial experience.
- At least 2-3 years’ experience within a manufacturing environment is essential.
- Proven experience in cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Expert proficiency in advanced Excel and strong working familiarity with modern manufacturing ERP software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent commercial and business acumen.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work independently.
