Key Responsibilities
- Conduct workplace health and safety inspections, audits, and hazard identification.
- Assist with HIRA processes and the development of Written Safe Work Procedures (WSWPs).
- Monitor compliance with H&S legislation, company standards, policies, and procedures, including contractor compliance.
- Investigate incidents and accidents and monitor corrective and preventive actions.
- Compile H&S statistics, reports, and KPIs.
- Coordinate Safety Representative and Health and Safety Committee activities.
- Deliver H&S inductions, awareness programmes, and safety training.
- Support emergency preparedness, response planning, and emergency drills.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or an equivalent qualification.
- Recognised Health and Safety certification, such as NEBOSH, SAMTRAC, IOSH Managing Safely, or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in an Occupational Health and Safety role within the mining industry.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Sound knowledge of applicable OHS legislation and mining safety standards.
- Proven experience in inspections, audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Experience in emergency preparedness and incident management.
