NHAG Project Officer | Shack Dwellers Federation

NHAG is the technical support organization of the Shack Dwellers Federation. The Project Officer will work with the saving groups of the Federation, informal settlement communities and Local/Regional Authorities nationally. Namibian or Permanent Residents, with a driver’s license, meeting below requirements can apply. Women are encouraged to apply.

Job Specification:

• Support land application and land development
• Prepare technical drawing required by the saving groups in the network (block layouts, house and service plans)

• Maintain and ensure accessibility of the digital information for technical purposes
• Ensure proper filing offal approved plans and land information
• Assist with liaising with and supervising temporary placements within NHAG and the SDFN

• Measuring plots, service lines and setting out of houses
• Training of building teams to supervise construction and basic construction skills

Requirements

• Computer literate with Autocad/Caddie competency
• Basic Land Surveying/measuring skills
• National Trade Diploma (Level 6) in a construction relevant field
• Familiar with the drawing of house plans, service plans and land layouts
• 5 years’ experience in construction related work
• Local languages will be an asset
• Availability to travel and to work with communities after hours and over weekends.
• A good relationship with people from all cultural groups.
• Be able to initiate and work independently
