Applicants generally need a minimum of Grade 12 with passes in Mathematics and Physical Science, and relevant technical subjects are advantageous. A valid Namibian driver’s licence (Code 1 or 2) is often required, and shortlisted candidates may need to undergo NQA-accredited technical assessments or basic safety inductions aligned with Namibian OSH Act standards.

Daily tasks include rotating across production lines, operating and monitoring machinery under supervision, conducting routine equipment checks, and assisting with maintenance and quality control. Participants also attend structured on-the-job training sessions and safety briefings aligned with Namibian mining and manufacturing regulations, including adherence to DOL occupational health and safety protocols.

Namibian manufacturing workplaces emphasise punctuality, teamwork, and strict compliance with safety procedures — reflecting national priorities under the Occupational Safety and Health Act. Respect for hierarchy and senior colleagues is valued, and communication tends to be direct yet courteous, consistent with broader Namibian workplace norms and collective bargaining agreements.

Graduates often progress to permanent roles as certified multi-skilled operators, shift supervisors, or technical support staff, depending on performance and internal vacancies. Further advancement may include enrolling in NQF Level 4–5 technical qualifications through institutions like the Namibia University of Science and Technology or industry-aligned apprenticeships recognised by the Namibia Qualifications Authority.

Participants typically receive statutory benefits including 21 days’ annual leave, sick leave, and maternity/paternity leave as per the Namibian Labour Act.
