Opportunity | Duty Description

Breaking oversize boulders (rocks) with a Hand Drill.

Ensuring the Hand Drill is always operated as per the standard operating procedure (SOP).

Checking of actual drilled hole depths against the planned hole depths, using a measuring tape and mark those that require re-drilling.

Geological mapping for both ore and waste contacts from the current production face and the drilling chips from the ore block.

Ore spotting duties for grade control in the pit and the ROM pad.

Geotechnical mapping of structures on current pit walls.

Sampling of current ore blocks.

Surveying and Staking of new points on the mining area.

Cleaning and preparation of new blocks for drilling.

Flattening of heave in ore blocks.

Taking tally during ore crushing operations (direct tipping as well as re-handling).

Maintain material handling equipment in a safe and good working condition.

Operate manual material handling equipment safely.

Assist in the waste disposal and recycling activities.

Manage housekeeping activities when requested. Ensure that the work areas are clean, safe, and organised.

Perform ad hoc tasks as prescribed by the supervisor or manager in a timely manner.

Added Advantages | Special Requirement(s)

Grade 10 is required.

One (1) year work experience is essential.

Mining experience will be advantageous.

Namibian driver’s licence.
