MERCHANDISER– PROCUREMENT DEPARTMENT
Responsible for producing sales by providing point-of-purchase and shelf management services ensuring
proper pricing of items and arranging attractive displays of merchandise based on at-the-time sales
promotions. This position is based in Windhoek.

Key responsibilities include:

• Merchandising products on shelves and in secondary points of sale locations
• Checking the state and quantity of goods on the shelves in the shop and in the store
• Repositioning and arranging goods to increase their marketability
• Competitive price monitoring – verify prices of displayed goods
• Work closely with display staff and branch managers to decide how goods should be displayed to maximize sales
• Ensure that all products on the shelves are linked to a barcode
• Removing expired stock from the shelves
• Building of Planograms and implementing the same at all stores
• Optimizing shelve space usage and limiting products in receiving
• Ensure that all products have price talkers
• Provide guidance and coaching to shopfloor personnel on the correct method of merchandizing (all branches – countrywide while remerchandising the branch)
• Upselling of products – to all personnel
• Efficiently and appropriately assistance to customers
• Attending stock takes
• Administrative and related tasks pertaining to the above
• Perform tasks delegated by Procurement Managers and/or a person with authority within the scope of Business Activities
• Travel the country to all branches and lead the remerchandising of branches

The suitable applicant will have:

• A valid Grade 12 (with at least 23 points)
• 1-3 years experience in a store/supply chain/distribution environment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Problem-solving, time management, planning, and organizing skills
• Commercial awareness and confidence with the ability to cope well under pressure
• Creation of window and in-store displays in shops/stores taking responsibility for the ‘look’ of the store, to promote goods to maximize sales
• Up to date with the latest merchandising trends and best practices
• Computer (Agri-Smart and MS Office) literate and 1-year Agri smart experience with Kaap Agri systems will be an added advantage
• Ability to create appropriate and engaging product displays
• Positive attitude, personal drive, and show initiative
• Namibian Citizenship and a valid code driver’s license
